Dumbo Open Studios
DUMBO Open Studios is an annual event where artists in DUMBO and Vinegar Hill open their doors to the public. This year, due to COVID-19, artists across DUMBO and Vinegar Hill will share their recent artworks virtually, giving viewers the opportunity to explore art from all media and themes from home.
Artists in DUMBO’s four artist residency programs – Art in General’s Artist in Residence Program, Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, Smack Mellon’s Artist Studio Program, Triangle NYC – will also participate, as will the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture DUMBO-based sculpture students. DUMBO’s galleries will participate with virtual exhibitions.
2020 Virtual DUMBO Open Studios will launch later this spring.

There is minimal street parking in DUMBO, and there are several parking garages throughout the neighborhood.
DUMBO, a neighborhood located between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, is Brooklyn’s epicenter of art and creativity. In the 1970’s, industry’s hold on the waterfront ebbed and the neighborhood became home to an artist enclave. Now the converted warehouses are home to many of Brooklyn’s most important artist residency programs and arts organizations, located alongside artists’ studios and workshops.
