From a natural development in the traditional collage aesthetic, my medium has become a hybrid of painting and sculpture woven together to form a distinct vocabulary. A point of view becomes a physical object, a story in words of material. Sifting through the visual library that’s the outside world, I’m looking not so much for a single symbolic object, but for a possible field of texture to fulfill a role.

Inspired at first to translate a specific idea, I might let the material run it’s course in different combinations for the sheer visual value of it, or veer off on a new tangent as the material prompts me. World news, subjective experience, literary influence and emotional reflection are all starting points for the code I’m writing in stuff.
