Ivan Sikic

54 Pearl Street

Ivan Sikic is conceptual artist who makes work about things he believe to be unsustainable in the world: the realities of being an immigrant, how violence affects women, the destruction of our natural resources for the sake of greed, mass consumerism, social inequalities and the unjust treatment of the disenfranchised. He respond to these themes through durational performance, installation, public intervention, sculpture, and photography.

His work has been shown at The 8th Floor (New York), Smack Mellon (Brooklyn), Km 0.2 (Lima and Mexico City), Luis Adelantado (Bogotá, Madrid, and Valencia), the 2nd Gran Bienal Tropical (2016) curated by Marina Reyes Franco, Radames “Juni” Figueroa, Stefan Benchoam & Pablo León de la Barra, amongst others.

For the 2019 Dumbo Open Studios, Sikic will be showing a new series of Hand Embroidered Capes.
