Olive Ayhens‘ studio will include paintings, watercolors, drawings & prints . Her work evolves from a special sense of place and transformation of environments in her own quirky ways. Sometimes there is a political/ecological subtext but always and most importantly a passion for the paint itself. She is a recipient of the Joan Mitchell Fellowship, the Guggenheim Grant, two Pollock/Krasner’s and the Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Individual Support Grant. She has been in resident at the MacDowell colony, Ucross, Yaddo, LMCC, Sharpe/Walentas Studio space, VCCA, among other residencies.
