New York Studio School DUMBO Sculpture Studio & Gallery

Nonprofit Arts Organization

The New York Studio School Dumbo Sculpture Studio provides graduates and advanced students of the school with space to make, present, and discuss new work.

The expectation is that the work will be experimental and will allow the concerns of making, discussing, and presenting new work to intermingle freely.

Active, working exhibitions, where the intent is to rethink the exhibition format, are an integral part.

Current activity:

Jim Condron, Martin Dull: Projects that engage with a conceptual and logistical orientation to the flat wall, articulating a particular consciousness of dimensionality, be it more of painting or more of sculpture and how they may cross over. The artists introduced their work at Dumbo First Thursday, March 5.

Celia Gerard: Individual project.

Thomas Stavovy: Room without a view. Landscape without land.

The NYSS Dumbo Sculpture Studio has been temporarily closed to help control the pandemic and keep people safe. The studio will be re-opened as soon as practicable.
