Craig Anthony Miller, Emotional expression 1 (2023). Acrylic on canvas board. 4 x 6 x 0.8 in.

CAM's style draws heavily from stained glass art, especially the captivating windows of his childhood church, Antioch Baptist Church in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The fusion of stained-glass aesthetics, layered techniques, and graffiti elements became CAM's signature as he embarked on his journey as a professional painter. His canvas soon expanded to metal, wood, and reclaimed objects like lockers, coffee tables, and tin roofing, and his art carries deep symbolism, featuring animal totems like birds, elephants, and deities that underscore life's significant rhythms.
