Vertical color driven abstraction with a warm field of color floating in a cooler purplish ground.

Fred Poisson, Untitled #7.25.22 (2022). Watercolor on paper. 40 x 53 in.

Fred is interested in finding a simple abstract essence. Color driven, they are graphic, yet organic and fluid in nature. His processes are continually evolving and he works with traditional and non-traditional materials and methods. Idea meets intuition, these works are intended to be purely experiential.

Recently returned to NYC after many years living rurally on Block Island R.I., and abroad, Fred’s work has a deep connection to nature. His minimal approach is a connection to that calmness as much as it is a reaction to the busyness of the world we live in.

Fred is a graduate of RISD and returned to painting in 2010 after many years working as a designer. He has shown primarily in New England and a small museum show in China.
