Mural with the words "Crimes" above an image of the Whitehouse (the third mural in the Supremacy Project series)

Julian Alexander, Capitol Crimes (2022). Outdoor mural. 288 x 120 in. Photo by Karston "Skinny" Tannis.

Bold imagery is central to Julian Alexander’s practice. Drawing upon his years as a graphic designer, he takes inspiration from his community to tell stories about blackness in America.

Alexander’s first mural juxtaposing raw imagery with branding laid the foundation for Supremacy Project. His work blurs the line between designer and artist, with no differentiation between the two.
