Levani (Levan Mindiashvili) is Tbilisi-born, Brooklyn-based visual artist. They use latex, liquid mirror, neons, tapestries and plants to create immersive installations, sculptures and paintings that present the world as a continuous, porous interplay of life and matter.
Levani holds an MFA from the Buenos Aires National University of Arts (2010) and a BA from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (2003). They are a recipient of the Socrates Sculpture Park Fellowship (2021), Peter S. Reed Foundation Grant (2020), NYFA Immigrant Artists Mentoring Program (2020), AIM Fellowship of the Bronx Museum of the Arts (2019), NARS Studio Residency (2018), and Creative Times X Summit Grant (2018). Their work has been reviewed in Frieze, Art in America, HYPERALLERGIC, The Brooklyn Rail, ArtAsia Pacific; The Art Newspaper, Pin-UP Magazine, OSMOS, Observer, Art Margins, and others.
