Marc Manchester is a contemporary photographer who has been capturing life on film since his youth. Eager to refine his skills and expand his knowledge, Marc sought education in various schools and courses, immersing himself in the realm of visual storytelling. Notably, during his time in the Army Reserves, he attended the Defense Information School, specializing in military journalism. This experience shaped his understanding of capturing the essence of powerful narratives through the lens. Marc's journey took him to many places, finally landing him back in New York City, where he honed his craft in commercial photography under the guidance of established photographers. It was during this time that he developed an insatiable fascination with the art of lighting, particularly mastering the use of strobe lighting techniques. His current series, Studio Nudes, and The Stage date back to the beginning of the pandemic. Studio Nudes, strives to create a narrative with the viewer about the expressiveness of individual passion and awakenings in an age of censorship. The Stage, is a series based on the desire to deconstruct a fashion shoot and invites the viewer to participate as vouyeur into the freeing of the self, as interpreted via the act of stripping. Select images from both series will be on display in the studio.
