Zoe Avery Nelson was born in Rhinebeck, NY and is a current Sharpe-Walentas residency recipient. They received an MFA from Columbia University and have recently mounted solo exhibitions at the Rubber Factory in NYC and JDJ|Ice House in Garrison, NY. Their work has been reviewed in the Brooklyn Rail, Artforum.com, and Artspace, among other publications. JDJ|Ice House will present new work of Zoe Avery’s during the Dallas Art Fair and Future Fair (NYC) in April and May of 2020 respectively.
About Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program
The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program awards rent-free non-living studio space to 17 visual artists for year-long residencies in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Its mission is to provide working studio space and community for artists. Artists are selected annually based on merit from a competitive pool of applicants by a professional jury comprised of artists and members of the SWSP Artists Advisory Committee.
