Tell me a little bit about your art practice.

I am primarily an abstract painter that incorporates my work in installations. My paintings waver between landscape and geometry, finding a quirky place in between. I have been in DUMBO for over 30 years.

Whose studios are you excited to visit this year as a part of DUMBO Open Studios?

I am interested in seeing the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, but I’ll attend their opening reception on Friday evening since my studio will be open Saturday and Sunday with a fabulous group show titled Holding It Together.

What should visitors not miss during their visit to DUMBO Open Studios this May?

People should not miss Holding It Together! The show features:
Angela Briztman, Elizabeth Berdann, Katherine Bowling, David Brody, Sharon Butler, Amanda Church, Elisabeth Condon, Alan Crockett, Clara Crockett, Lisa Corinne Davis, Anne Delaney, Barbara Friedman, Jacqueline Gourevitch, Lisa Hein, Mary Jones, Andrew Kossow, Margrit Lewczuk, Maureen McQuillan, Laura Newman, Michelle Weinberg, Nell Painter, Marilla Palmer, Liza Phillips, David Rhodes, Hal Saulson, Carole Seborovski, Drew Shiflett, Alison Slon, Mary Ann Strandell, and Alexi Worth.

*Editor’s note: You can visit Holding It Together artists Sharon Butler and Alexi Worth’s studios during DUMBO Open Studios as well.
